Big News!

Hi everyone!

We have yet another tricky announcement for you!

It’s not all bad! But, with great sadness, we do have to announce another change in our line-up.

Our bassist and singer Elliott, after long and careful consideration, has made the decision to move to Cheltenham and pursue his long standing ambition of becoming a tattoo artist. He’s got an excellent apprenticeship and is really enjoying it, but unfortunately his time commitments and new location mean that he can’t play with us anymore. We’re all still best friends! It’s just a hard decision he’s had to make.

In similar and equally disappointing fashion, our drummer Ash has also taken a new job and found a beautiful new partner that he’s decided to commit himself to completely. Again, there are no hard feelings, and we all still love each other. It’s just part of growing up that Ash has decided that he can’t give the band the time he feels it deserves.

THE GOOD BIT!

Longstanding fans and anyone who saw us on our most recent tour or in the Netherlands a few weeks ago will remember Scott! He had to walk away from the band previously when times were tough. But he’s back to play drums again and he’s here to stay!

Also, we have two new friends for you all to meet…

Our new singer and bassist is the handsome Tom Dowd from Birmingham and we also have a new trumpet player, Chris Booroff, from London town.

Make or break tour!

So we have been particularly busy and seem to have neglected good old Tumblr. I’d like to start this post thanking every single one of you who have continued to support us though these hard times!

Currently we are busy recording demos and preparing to go back to the studio with our good friends Romesh and Rob of Longwave Studio!

We have a couple of one off shows during this recording period,

-17th May at the Joiners Southampton, supporting VersaEmerge and Not Advised!

-13th June Railway Inn Winchester, Headline show w/Mash attack + more

-25th June Make a Scene Festival Middlesbrough

We were gob smacked at how many of you managed to come to our April tour with our new BFFs Mimi Soya! This tour was certainly a Make or Break tour for Kids Can’t Fly. As some of you are aware we had a line up change recently and this tour was determining our existence! We can happily announce that we are feeling stronger and happier than ever!

Every night was spectacular! We had over 100 attendance each night including a couple of sell out shows! Mimi Soya ripped it up every night and the bond between the two bands grew throughout the tour!

Once again, thanks to everyone that helped us along the way (especially Jerry) and we can’t wait to show you all the new things we plan! xxx

The Good, The Bad, and The Incredibly Disappointing

So here it is, some massive news… The good news is that we have two awesome events coming up in the next few weeks. This Thursday night you can catch us at the Oxford academy 2 with the incredible ‘Jody has a hitlist’, and then again on the 11th of February at the Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms with the awesome ‘Octane OK’…

The bad news? Regretably we are no longer going to be shooting our music video on February 11th. It is still going to be an amazing night of live pop-punk, and all current tickets are still well and truly valid. Day ticket holders can still attend the evening show. Ofcourse anyone who might change their mind on attending because of this will be able to get a full refund. Though we hope that you’ll still come along, especially because of what I’m about to write…

So why is that? Here comes a big disappointment. It has unfortunately come to a point that due to personal reasons, Ryan, Drew, and Scott have decided to leave the band. There’s no hard feelings, and they are still going to be playing at the next two shows mentioned above.

The future of our current line-up is a little uncertain right now. Each of us are going to take a little time to decide what it is best to do next. One this is certain though…

Kids Can’t Fly are NOT SPLITTING UP! You can look forward to a 2011 filled with hot and sticky, horn filled, pop-punk extravaganzas. A stack of new tracks are on the way and a tasty new video will be underway with as little delay as possible.

More news will follow soon so please stick with us, and grab your tickets now to see Drew, Scott, and Ryan off in epic style!
